BIGPRU.com 1 Day until the move

Some of you may have already heard, my car was broken into AGAIN late Thursday night. Yeah, it sucks but mainly because this time they busted out the locks on my drivers side door and trunk. They only got away with my CD player ($80) and 2 6x9 pioneer speakers ($50), so on the bright side they left my paintball gun and they basically COULD have easily made away with $500 more. In an attempt to keep my anger at a low level I drew a description of the theif.

I just finished watching this special on the history channel called Meteors: Fire in the Sky. While viewing I realized a disturbing trend, they like to equate a meteor strike to megatons of TNT or Hiroshima nuclear bombs. It's like when you hear the government is spending billions of dollars on some project, I doubt most people (including myself) would comprehend the difference between 190 million and 190 billion if you heard it in the news. So what I learned is: a meteor the size of Texas that stuck the earth would be the force of 100 megatons of TNT OR 71 Hiroshima nuclear bombs! I liken this to my childhood memory of a trip to Grandma's house being two Sesame Streets and a Mr Rodger's Neighborhood.

I found this blog tool the other day, it's called w.bloggar. So far I am liking it, it will make posting in multiple blogs easier. I will let you know how it fairs after I post THIS blog... now.

BIGPRU.com 5 Days until the move

The big BIGPRU.com move is happening in 5 days now. I put allot of work into it, tested the CRAP out of it. It looks about 99% the same between IE and Firefox. It's also the first thing I have made on the Open Source Nvu. Pretty good program, still a little rough around the edges but I am very much looking forward to future versions.

Relient K seems to be doing really well. I hear about them frequently form mainstream sites. The latest is actually from iTunes... I guess Carson Daily picked them to be featured on his weekly free download program.

A Flickr Pro membership is only $25 now! I am glad I waited.

In fake news, my blog is about 50% evil. At least according to this guy.

I decided to stave off the comments until the move, since they would be deleted anyway. So, if you want to drop me some love do it here.

BIGPRU.com 6 Days until the move

BIGPRU.com MOVING IN 6 DAYS - be sure to update your links and xml feeds. http://BIGPRU.com/rss/atom.xml

Firefox Fans should check out these two extensions I found. The first is TabMix. It will allow you to click and drag tabs, tab close buttons, permissions (no images, no javascript) and it can even restore tabs from your previous session. The second is Bookmarks Synchronizer, which allows you to share your bookmarks between different locations. Their are allot of possiblities for this one, you could even publish a bookmark feed and other people could download it!

Thanks to Courtney for showing me hopw to "step backwards" in photoshop two weeks ago. I seriously use it all the time now, and I save 10% of my workspace now because I don't need that darned history window. Edit > Step Backwards or ctrl-Alt-Z.

Jon Johansen (the guy who cracked DVDs) is probably worth his weight in gold. He just released JusteTune for windows. If you have music you bought from the iTunes store just drag and drop it into his program and it will erase ALL restrictions on the file. No more transfer or burn limits. Probably the coolest part, it will directly edit the file so you don't have to re-add and delete the original.

BIGPRU.com 7 Days until the move

BIG NEWS - I will be moving my blog to it's new home, BIGPRU.com, where I will continue doing what I have been doing. Here's how it'll work: For this entire week I will post here and there. Switch your RSS reader/and/or blog links to http://www.bigpru.com/rss/atom.xml and http://bigpru.com/ respectively sometime this week and it'll all work out OK. And of course if you don't, you will get 404'd. Full convergence will happen Monday, 4/25/2005.... ehhhhh about noon. Let me know if you like the new look.

The team over at Bungie.net announced today that they are tweaking Halo 2 and rebalencing some weapons. They are going to kick nades up a notch as well as melees being MUCH stronger now in v.1.1, which I felt was good news. I will have to try it today when I get home.

I was SHOCKED when I read this headline today, "Adobe to Buy Macromedia for $3.4 Bln". That's pretty big news... but I guess it shouldn't seem too out of the ordinary. Adobe has always had their web program, and macromedia is notorious for their Dreamweaver suite. I will look forward to the day that the $1000 Creative Suite offers Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and InDesign.

I had a good weekend, riding bikes in Enon was a blast. I hope we could do that again sometime. I feel that I need to try something a little more dangerous next time... hmmmm. Then of course Sunday went like usual; service, lunch with friends, and our new favorite pastime FRISBEE FOOTBALL! What a great way to get in shape, DANG! I really wish I could work this into my daily routine somehow. At the end of the night everyone came over to my house, me and Luke played some Splinter Cell co-op. Thanks to my TiVo we watched the funniest show ever, My Sweet 16 on MTV. It documents the sweet 16 parties of rich girls and the tantrums they throw when they don't get there way. Don't judge by the way, it was hillarious and you should watch it at least once.

The Other Pope

I am loving my new TiVo, but you should too, because I will now be able to show you stuff form my favorite shows. Just like the Conan O'Brien featured character the FedEx Pope.

Conan told this character that he was cut form the show "for obvious reasons".

I Want A PVR

I want a TiVo so bad I could murder you for it. Especially when I peeped the new HME capabilites of the series 2 DVR. It will basically allow you to install modules so TiVo can interface with your computer and the internet in unique ways. The best ones I have seen so far include iSee iTunes (listen to itunes playlists and rate songs from your TiVo), Flickr picture viewer, and Google Map. And DANG, on top of all that I can watch my TiVo on my computer too? I found one for $100 on eBay, I am going to buy it Thursday. Why can't other things be this inovative?

Emily would be happy to know that they have closed down half of the bridge she blew her tire on. There are literally chunks of concrete popping out of this thing. My guess is they will shut it down before they start tearing it down.

I would imagine at some point it was owned by Michael Jackson, how it got in Springfield Ohio I have no idea.
